I’ve been looking for a longer pair of custom shorts all summer and I have to say these are a home run!!!! I love that they have a polished look in the front with a zipper and button opening, plus a comfortable elastic waistband in the back. The mid-thigh length is a classy change from my shorts and the fabric is a comfortable, lightweight, flowy material that can be worn formal or casual. I’m teaming up with Nordstrom’s to share two design approaches, as well as a few other recent finds that will transition nicely into next season.

Dress up // tank top + sport jacket + belt + sandals

For my casual everyday look, I would simply pair these shorts with a classic ribbed tank (great basic!) Not too short) plus a belt and flat sandals or sneakers. But throw on a casual blazer and a pair of sandals or heels and the outfit becomes chic for a dinner party or chic casual event. If you missed my review of this blazer last month, please note that it is definitely a longer length and many petite shoppers may prefer the shorter version. I kept the longer one because I’ve found it to be a better length for most of the chic casual outfits I’ve been wearing lately, but the shorter one is easier to pair with business casual.

Casual Wear // Button Up Shirt + Flat Sandals

My photos here don’t really capture the feminine French chic details that set this button-down shirt apart from the norm. There’s a delicate ruffle on the collar, fabric-covered buttons down the center and on the cuffs, and a subtle striped textured fabric.
