Skirt: silk skirt xs

Sweater:Everlane cashmere sweater xxs

Shoes:H&M heels sz 5 (I have them too and love them)

Bag:Polene

Shapewear:Uniqlo shorts, light shaping

I’ve always loved pairing different textures and silhouettes, like this chunky waffle sweater paired with a more delicate and sleek camisole. Since I always get asked how to layer clothes, for this outfit I used two of my go-to layering techniques (you can see them demonstrated in my Instagram video):.

Because I have a short neck, I usually roll my turtleneck sweaters in half and fold them inward for a cleaner look.

To create a waistline underneath the loose sweater, I tuck the sweater into my bra straps. This tuck does not work for our beloved inner wai bras as it requires a less elastic band to hold the sweater more securely. If you’re looking for other ways to fold your sweaters, you can revisit my sweater folding guide!

  1. Quinceanera Skirt

Use code EXTRAPETITE5 for 5% off your first purchase. I’ve had this skirt for over a year now and have worn it many times, but this is the first time I’m sharing it because I have some mixed feelings. On the plus side, it’s a beautiful color and it’s 100% silk at a price you won’t find anywhere else. However, the silk is thin and tends to get static on my legs. Ideally, I would have preferred something a little thicker, and if I could have found a color as perfect as this bottle of champagne, I would have gladly traded the silk for a less premium material.

The choker is a little long from a fit perspective, but that seems to be the norm for pretty much most halter dresses on the market. This skirt does have a lot of 5-star reviews and no one has mentioned the silk sticking to their legs, so it’s worth checking out if you’ve been eyeing it.The XS kilt is 28″ in length and has a 12.4″ waist when lying flat (elasticized).

Here are some of the other options I’ve found:

Thicker Satin + Multiple Colors:Camisole Skirt. the XXS has a 12.5″ waist and is 29″ long.

Thicker satin + similar champagne:J.Crew skirt, but 30″ longer. Look on me.

Same champagne dress:Bird Gray Satin Dress, XXS and up, adjustable straps

Petite size + silk:Banana Republic petite skirt in a lovely color, a sliding slit, petite 25″ length

I also wanted to mention that in addition to the halter dress, Quince has several other affordable silk pieces. I have a silk blouse in their size XS that fits me perfectly.

  1. the Everlane cashmere sweater

A few years later, this Everlane sweater is still a favorite, although I can’t speak to this year’s exact version in case they have any updates. As mentioned, the neck is a full turtleneck sweater and I usually wear it folded down. The length is long enough that I can almost wear drawstring black bottoms or leather pants, which I often do. As you can see in some of the older pairings here and here, the turtleneck sweater is unfolded.
