I recently wore this outfit for a girls’ night out and will be repeating the outfit from head to toe for my upcoming birthday dinner! When I’m out and about in the city these days, I often don’t know what to wear, so it’s key to have a set or two that makes me feel amazing. My usual default is black, and this one looks sleek and edgy, but also elegant and age appropriate – I love it! You can also see this dress in action in my IG reel video.
I bought a similar suit jumpsuit earlier this year and it’s been the “it piece” when I need an outfit that makes me feel incredible. This black one has a very similar silhouette, very nicely cut on a small frame with a slightly lower neckline. I’ve always found Alice & Olivia to run a little small for petite proportions – it’s a size 0 for me as it is a size 00 for many other brands, and the only adjustment I made was to fold the sleeves in. The bottom of the jumpsuit adds a bit of coverage and security when I’m sitting or bending over.
These athletic jumpsuits have a tailored fit and are perfect to wear on their own, but if you want to cinch your waist even further, you can add a black belt like our Edited Pieces Belt. I’m wearing a mini version of our signature belt here!
This little bag has been my most wanted designer bag all year – check it out in casual style here and here, dressed up a bit here. I love the size and shape of it, and if you’re shorter, the strap is long enough that I can wear it slanted, which is a major bonus! For my first designer bag, I’m still sticking with the classic Saint Laurent chain wallet, which remains one of my favorite styles over the years.
Maryana (also at Nordstrom) vs Maryana sculppt (also at Nordstrom):Schutz makes some unexpected booties for smaller people! I’m only 5 feet tall and short, so I usually try on knee-high boots thinking they won’t fit quite right, but these boots are surprisingly flattering and sexy on.
I’ve been eyeing Maryana’s original embossed leather boot since last fall, but I thought it had a bit of a western look to it. I was excited to see an updated Maryana sculpt come out that was much more my style! The original was made of embossed leather, and the sculpture is made of suede or leather with a subtle “sculpted” heel shape.
I did try both styles and debated between the two because embossed leather is usually lower maintenance, easy to wipe clean, and the embossing should hide scratches. This sculpture won me over because it fits my closet better and the material feels higher end and looks classier than embossed leather.
Fit:FYI, these boots are pull on, no zipper. I’m between a 5 and 5.5 in most brands, and these don’t have a zipper, so I’m wearing a 5.5. In the smaller size, my foot gets stuck at the ankle, and the half-size larger solves that problem. I have fairly narrow calves and also found these to be a tight fitting area with minimal stretch.
After the pandemic, I thought I’d never wear heels this high again, but I’ve found that this heel height is much more comfortable than wearing heels when wearing boots for extended periods of time because my feet are safely wedged into the boots!
Here’s how the sporty top looks with flats! I wanted to show it off at a cocktail party for those who can’t or don’t like to wear heels.
