Over the past few months, I’ve been gradually cleaning out my closet and going through my closet with a critical eye, and I’ve really highlighted some of the key pieces I need the most! I wanted to share 3 versatile pieces that I use on a regular basis, as well as similar, well-stocked options. Below I’ll show how these key pieces are designed for both casual and business casual office environments.
- Key Piece: Sleek Black Top/Tights
A sleek black top or tights tucked into jeans or pants is the easiest yet chicest outfit to wear from casual everyday to date night to the office. From sleeveless black tank tops for summer to simple black turtleneck sweaters for winter, I have different designs for this key piece. To keep it from being too simple, I love a fun neckline or a thicker material like a +F’s ponte. Here are some similar options for funky necklines:
I recently tried on Everlane’s cheeky jeans (check out my full length) and found them to be the most similar of my favorite pair of old jeans currently available to choose from. I find the off-white color is great year-round, and both the high-waisted and slim straight leg pants look great and flattering.
- Key item: cardigan dresses
These WHBM jeans were a huge hit and got a lot of great reviews from you guys! You can see my blog post with different ways to style them here. It’s not often that I can find slim fit jeans that are longer than ankle length, but not skin tight.
For those of you looking for timeless, high-quality shoes, I’d also like to say that my Sarah Flint discount code has been reactivated – you can use the code SARAHFLINT-JEAN50 to get $50 off your first purchase of any full-priced shoe. Their perfect pumps are crafted with their unique, signature bow support cushioning inside.
Or any similar long unisex cardigan. I’ve had my EP sample for six months now and it’s comfortable enough to put me to sleep and easy to throw on over jeans or shorts.
- key item: tailored navy blazer
This is one of my favorite blazers in the collection, with a hint of nautical sparkle. You can read my review here to see how easy it is to pair with blue jeans. While cleaning out my closet, I noticed that (non-blazer) sport jackets in neutral colors rank high in terms of timelessness and longevity. I hardly ever throw away any of these blazers I bought 5, sometimes 10 years ago, so for me, it’s worth it to spend a little money on a well-fitting, high-quality blazer!
